CBT explores the connections between thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and behaviour. Working with a therapist, you can look at how these patterns affect everyday life and try different responses.
The NHS describes CBT as a talking therapy used for difficulties including anxiety, depression and OCD. Whether it is a suitable approach for you depends on your needs and an individual assessment.

What might sessions involve?
CBT is collaborative. You and your therapist explore situations that are difficult, agree what you would like to change and consider manageable ways to approach them. This can include noticing patterns of avoidance or examining a thought from another perspective.
There may be opportunities to practise between sessions. The purpose is to connect what happens in therapy with everyday life, rather than simply understand a difficulty in theory.

Therapy that makes room for difference
Kate primarily works with children and also supports adults. Her work includes anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, OCD and stress-related difficulties, with a practical, compassionate and individually tailored approach.
Neurodiversity-affirming care is central to the practice. If you or your child have ADHD or are autistic, communication preferences and sensory needs are part of the conversation. The aim is support that fits the person, not pressure to become somebody else.
